This process reduces the height of the sidewall to approximately 6 to 6 ½ inches, allowing for easier access to the tub as it provides a lower height needed to lift your foot to get into the tub. This process can be completed on a fiberglass, steel or cast iron bathtub.
The conversion process has no impact on the existing plumbing, floor or walls. We are simply cutting a section out of the wall of the tub and capping it with a threshold to finish it off.

Our standard threshold allows us to reduce the step by 8″ for most tub conversions. A standard tub is 14″ or 15″, leaving a step of 6″ or 7″. We also manufacture a deeper threshold that can be used for deeper soaker tubs. This allows us to reduce the step by 11″.
A regular shower curtain works great and is a stylish and sanitary option. The curtain rod may need to be lowered to ensure it hangs below the opening. We can take care of that if requested.
